An NIF Event – Yemen: The Forgotten War

The Expert Round Table Speakers: Sama’a al-Hamdani, Consultant at the Atlantic Council; Doug Bandow, Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute; Jamal Khashoggi, Saudi journalist and author, Al Arab News Channel. Moderator: Khaled Elgindy, Fellow at the Brookings Institution

The Yemen war is about to enter its fifth year with no end in sight. Thousands of civilians have been killed, 130 children die every day due to starvation and lack of medical aid due to blockade, and terrorist groups have flourished amid the chaos. What are the United States’ options to avoid greater instability in the region and at what cost? Watch this video for a discussion round table with seasoned speakers and regional experts offering their insights and views on the roots and fallout of the conflict.

Jamal Khashoggi was one of the first experts in the international community to voice on the atrocities of the Yemen War and U.S. involvement. Just as we remain to remember Yemen, currently the worst humanitarian disaster to date, we will remember Jamal and his enlightening efforts to bring hope to this region of the world.
